MSI Wind U90 Unboxing Video Part 1
fdaman asked:
This is the 8.9 "version of linux NETBOOK MSI Wind. It 's not available in the U.S., but can be bought in Canada (which is where I got this). The U90 shares the same body as U100. The differences are it has a 8.9 "screen, only 512Mb RAM, and SUSE Linux from Novell. It also has a 120MB HD that is bigger than 80MB in the U100.

I got the U-100 here in Canada — Pink bag! (which I gave away to a girl asap). It’s a nice machine but HORRIBLE FRENCH “bilingual” KEYBOARD – you have to change to US just to type a forward slash.

Got to love the horrible canadian bilingual french keyboard. Damn french had to ruin a perfectly good netbook.

Hmmm, wonder if there’s an XP version.
And oh God, that screen bezel…

Hi-
I know – I actually bought the EEE PC 1000H because of this a few months back and the 6 cell is only now available locally by me. i got this unit to experiment on with different OS – I didnt’ care about the battery. I can tell you I’ve owed a few of these netbooks now and the WIND is the coolest running of the bunch by far which impresses me since the all these units specs are indentical with the ATOM chip…

MSI sucks, I have been trying to get the 6-cell white battery for weeks now, I know 20-30 large online stores in Canada that sell MSI Wind netbooks, none of them has the cell in stock and as far as I can tell the situation in the US with the white 6-cell isn’t much better. Does MSI actually know that this stops people like me from buying a Wind to begin with (I still don’t have one). I doubt it…sigh
