Vacationing in Tustin An Interesting Discovery With Solar Powered Window Fans

A couple of weeks in the past, a few pals and I made a decision that we wanted to take a break from our busy schedules and just search for a place to unwind. After doing a bit of research on places that were nearby, where we could all just go and spend a few days chillin’ but that will still match our finances, we settled on an area just outside the town of Tustin, CA.

Not only was it easy to access in case any of us had an emergency that would require us to hurry home but it also was among the finest places to hang out dollar for dollar. As we began, I knew it was going to be a superb trip. The one thing I was nervous about was the weather – like many people, I do not fare very well with high humidity particularly if it is the type of humidity I am not used to at home.

When we finally arrived at our Bed & Breakfast in Tustin, it was mid day and the temperature outside was stifling. But inside our quaint B & B, the air was fresh and cool. After asking how much they have to be paying in energy bills to maintain the place that cool through the summer months, the proprietor of the place instructed us they don’t really use electrical energy to chill the entire house. With that response, you may guess that all of us sat up to listen!

It is true that they didn’t use the utility for their cooling – as an alternative they used solar window fans. The solar powered fans were cheaper and had the added bonus of being environmentally friendly. According to the proprietor, they found them some time back when they realized that the electric payments they have been paying to maintain the building cool cost greater than was needed, realizing that not all rooms have been occupied through the day. From our observation, this was clearly a wise change – the solar window fans kept our rooms cool throughout our whole stay there.

After returning home, I could not resist doing some extra research of my own. The thought of paying much less for energy was just too tempting to resist. I was hooked by the fact that the solar powered fans were cheap and environmentally friendly. So I got right down to business doing my online investigation, asking round and despite the fact that not everyone knew anything in regards to solar powered window fans, the people that knew about them and used them have been some of the most passionate proponents of solar fans. I could not help but think about how true the age old marketing mantra that your customers might be your best sales team.

A solar window fan is fitted with photo-voltaic panels that are positioned in a manner that ensures maximum reception of direct sunlight. But if you’re like me and thought that the solar window fan may only be used in the home, it might be a pleasing surprise to know that the fans can be utilized in cars too. The fans specifically designed to fit in cars help keep the automobile interior cool and cut back the quantity of battery energy expended when running the automobile’s air conditioning.
